Mobile & Creative Ski Trip

iQuest Mobile and Creative Ski Trip Feb 2012

For winter sports lovers, the abundance of snow is not a reason to be worried. In order to take advantage of the weather, iQuest’s Mobile and Creative teams planned a long week-end “white” Team Building, the destinations were Tatranska Lomnica (on the first day) and Strbske Pleso (on the second day), in Slovakia, Tatra mountains.

The team stayed at the Hubert Hotel.  There were some problems with the bus because of the cold but except for that we had a great time. Some of the members of the team were hoping the bus would not start so that we could stay for one more day

It was very cold when we got there (-29 degrees Celsius) and some of us were worried. Fortunately, the second day was warmer at around -15. The hotel we stayed in was great. It was very comfortable and the food was just excellent. It has an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, massage and a pool with thermal water outside (we used them after skiing). The game room (billiards and table tennis) was the place where we spent our nights with the entire team.

The slopes are suited for any type of preference or any level of experience because they offer a lot of options for both beginners and the more experienced. Temperatures ranged from -8 to -18 on ski days. It was a good idea to bring ski masks. Several of the 18 persons on the trip has never gone skiing before and it was their first time trying to ski or snowboard (they all made good progress by the end of the trip).

If you will ever visit the area you should try the “Pork ribs with horseradish”, a delicious local specialty. You can find it at the Music Pub on the Visola Tatry slope. You should also try the local beer and the mulled wine. You should be responsible: don’t drink and ski
