ITCamp 2012 Aftermath

ITCamp 2012

Between 28-29 May 2012, Cluj-Napoca hosted the 2nd edition of the ITCamp. ITCamp is one of the most important conferences for software developers in Romania. For 2 days, speakers such as Tim Huckaby, Lino Tadros, Alessandro Teglia or Martin Kulov delivered extremely interesting presentations. All in all, there were over 30 speakers and more than 280 people have attended the event.

Compared to last year, there were 3 tracks dealing with:

  • Private & Public Cloud
  • Development & Mobile
  • Arhitecture & Best Practices

Besides these tracks, the organizers have prepared a hands-on-lab especially for the event.

This conference was organized by CodeCamp and ITSpark, and, just like last year, iQuest was one of the sponsors.

During the conference I have also made a presentation on background task in Windows 8.

Looking at the information provided, the conference turned out to be extremely interesting. Windows 8, Windows Phone 7 and Windows Azure were just some of the topics that have been discussed. I have to say I didn’t get bored at any of the presentations. Sometimes I didn’t even know which one to choose… hats off to the presenters!

I can’t wait for next year’s conference, which will hopefully be just as interesting as this year’s.

Our thanks go to Mihai Tataran (CodeCamp) and Tudor Damian (ITSpark) – the organizers of this event.

If you have participated in ITCamp, maybe you can tell me what you liked and what you have learned after two days of taking in all that information?

The two presentations I found the most interesting and well prepared: Architectural decisions on the battlefield by Sergiu Damian and Domain Driven Design by Adrian Bontea
(unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend Radu’s presentation, but I’m sure it was a success).
